Bicycle Portraits is a project by Stan Engelbrecht & Nic Grobler [designed and collaborated with Gabrielle Guy & Gabrielle Raaff], consisting of 165 portraits and stories of over 500 portraits of cyclists they’ve photographed during their two years in South Africa. The portraits will be divided over 3 books, with 55 stories and 2 essays by local South African and major international cycling figures. Each portrait is accompanied by a hand-painted watercolor map based on a Google Map of where the portrait was taken. The colors and watercolor maps have won me over, and I would love to have a copy one day. You can even help make this a possibility over on Kickstarter. via
